With warm chords, a soulful voice and great vocal harmonies, her sound is characterized by traditional soul. Inspirations such as Kate Tempest's spoken word aesthetic and Moses Sumney's fragility and rawness, as well as SPEAK LOW's musical intimacy, fill Sanyu's live universe.Sanyu is also the lead singer and songwriter of the Oslo-based pop and soul band Brainchild, which has played at festivals such as Vill Vill Vest and Oslo Jazzfestival's Nordic Showcase. During the Copenhagen Jazz Festival 2022, Sanyu played with his jazz trio Sanyu Namun.
